Andalucía Económica presents the ‘Ranking of the 1,200 largest companies in Andalusia’.

More than 200 businessmen and executives met on 6 June at the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) in Seville. Francisco Velasco, director of this institution in Andalusia, described this annual forum as “the celebration of the companies, of the executives”, because this ranking “is an essential example to know the business reality of Andalusia”. The event, which was sponsored by Cepsa with the collaboration of Innoku, was attended by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela, and the President of CES, Miguel Rus.

In this edition, the group of the 1,200 largest companies in Andalusia is led by Cepsa, which grew by 70% to 22,343 million euros. Endesa, in second place, almost doubled its turnover to 7,226 million euros (+45.7%); Bidafarma Group, in fourth place, increased by 53.8% to 3,229 million euros; and Cosentino Group, in tenth place, reached 1,711 million euros (+22.12%). Completing the Top 10 are Mercadona (4,071.5 M€), Bidafarma SCA (2,712.28 M€), Atlantic Copper (2,325 M€), Acerinox Europe (1,913 M€), Grupo Cunext (1,866 M€) and Telefónica España (1,822.4 M€).

The figures provided by the companies confirm that Andalusia has saved the furniture in the 2022 financial year, despite the factors that initially worked against economic growth: armed conflict, drought, inflation… Thus, most of the companies that make up this ranking evolve favourably and increase their turnover. In short, and as the official statistics indicate, the performance of the productive sectors in Andalusia last year was better than in the rest of Spain, registering an average growth of 6.2% compared to the national average of 5.7%.

The Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela, stressed that Andalusia is already the third largest economy in Spain: “In the last four years, Andalusia’s GDP has grown above the Spanish and Eurozone averages. An accumulated real growth of 1.3% between 2019 and 2022 compared to 0.7% for the country as a whole”.
