From today until September: Shops reopen for business on Sundays and public holidays

The arrival of tourists to the Costa del Sol also leads to the opening of shops on Sundays and public holidays between the months of June and September – as well as other times of the year. That is why this Sunday, 2nd June, the shops will reopen their doors until 29th September.

The municipalities of the Costa del Sol that are included in the list of the 12 towns that will be open on Sundays and public holidays are: Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, Estepona and Manilva. All of them are considered Zones of Great Tourist Influence (ZGAT), a category granted by the Andalusian Regional Government – at the request of the local councils – to those towns which, completely or partially, meet certain characteristics such as: a large influx of tourists, being close to port areas or being declared a World Heritage Site.

In total there will be 21 Sundays and public holidays that businesses on the Costa del Sol will be open. In June they will be open on Sundays 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; in July on 7, 14, 21 and 28; in August on Sundays 4, 11, 18, 25 and the public holiday on the 15th (bank holidays); in September they will be open on Sundays 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.
