Christmas lights 2023 in Malaga: new features, timetables and details of the capital’s Christmas lights.

More than 2.2 million LED light points announce the Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Epiphany festivities in 80 streets, squares and roundabouts in the historic centre and emblematic areas.

The universal Galician Luz Casal was in charge of pressing the button that gave light to the Malaga Christmas of 2023 from this Friday. The singer, who is closely linked to Malaga, was accompanied by Mayor Francisco de la Torre, the Councillor for Operational Services and Festivities, Teresa Porras, and other councillors from the Corporation. On Friday 1st December the video mapping will be inaugurated and the new show ‘Luces del Botánico’ entitled ‘Angelical’ will also begin.

This year the streets and squares of the historic centre and emblematic areas of the city will be decorated for the first time. Meanwhile, Calle Larios retains the set of ‘Heavenly Angels’ that was presented last year with an exclusive design for the city. The show will also continue on the city’s most emblematic street and, as well as offering new musical themes, for the first time on 27 and 28 December, verdiales can be heard to give the most ancestral Malaga melody all the limelight. In these spaces there will be more than 2.2 million LED light points distributed in half a thousand streets, squares and roundabouts. 80 of these streets are in the emblematic areas. There will also be architectural projections or video mapping shows in the cathedral’s Mocha tower.
