Marbella inaugurates its Christmas lights with a Flamenco party

Thousands of people enjoyed the start of Christmas in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara this afternoon with the lighting of the artistic lighting and performances by the singer Manuel Lombo and the group Siempre Así, according to the Town Hall.

The mayoress, Ángeles Muñoz, attended the kick-off of the municipal programme designed for the festivities and encouraged citizens to enjoy the activities organised by the Council.

The day kicked off at 18.30 with a parade that left from the Plaza del Santo Cristo and included a flashmob by the dance academies. This was followed at 8.30 p.m. by the lighting of the lights in Avenida Ramón y Cajal, which was followed by a flamenco show by the artist Manuel Lombo.

For the Christmas festivities, the Town Hall has designed a full and varied programme of activities aimed at all ages in Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara, which began this Friday with the lighting of the Christmas lights.

The calendar will continue on the 14th with the arrival of Father Christmas, who will have his house set up on the Paseo de la Alameda until the 24th, and throughout the festivities there will be zambombas and pastorals in different parts of the city and the route of the nativity scenes can be visited.

The Royal Postman’s house, installed in the Paseo de la Alameda, can be visited from the 27th, while on the 30th the New Year’s Eve mini-bell ringing will be held in the Plaza de la Iglesia at 11.30 am. On the 4th of January, at 17.00 hours, there will be a parade of the Royal Guard of the Three Wise Men of the East and on the 5th, at 18.00 hours, Their Majesties will travel through the main streets of Marbella in the traditional parade.
